Assistant Buyer

The Junior Buyer is responsible for assisting the buyer and director with all processes and procedures related to providing AEG Vision retail stores with product. In addition, they will have P&L responsibility for our smaller categories of business. This position is also charged with product set up and SKU maintenance on our POS, vendor order placement, data management and recall assistance.

• Responsible for the purchasing of smaller categories of business leading to increased sales, profitability and improved GM towards the P&L
• Owns all processes and procedures around UPC setup, entering and managing purchase orders and the updating and maintenance of all tracking forms and databases
• Manages all cost and retail price changes and works closely with our vendors and the accounting team on price discrepancy resolution
• Assists with managing our Lifecycle management process including obsolete and markdown product as well as assisting with our product recalls back to our lab and DC
• Assist Buyer and Director in preparing for vendor meetings
• Maintain product samples in the frame room as well as manage and organize any shipments that come to the office
• Support practices by responding to help desk tickets
• Works closely with planning team on store allocation needs as well as inventory planning

• College Degree is preferred and/or a strong track record of achievement in product merchandising over a period of several years
• Optical experience preferred but not required
• Outstanding organizational skills, detail oriented and can manage and prioritize multiple tasks at once
• Track record of being analytical, system savvy with a basic understanding of retail math
• Experience with Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with POS system preferred.
• Must have a demonstrated awareness and track record of understanding how merchandising, product assortments and field management all work together cohesively
• Ability build and maintain professional vendor relationships
• Occasional travel as needs arise
