Summary

The Senior Application System Analyst is responsible for technical process and data analysis, defining system technical design, working with internal and external vendors and partners to build, implement, and support solutions. The Senior Application System Analyst typically helps develop and manage plans for new applications. Additionally, he/she will help administer applications and become the technical point person on applications.

Position requires an incumbent with ability to conduct independent research, interpret highly technical documents, draw valid conclusions, develop technological solutions, take appropriate actions and/or make appropriate recommendation related to complex IT problems. 
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Senior Application System Analyst will oversee and perform activities to support, modify, or create new business applications thru our vendors and partners that optimize value, cost, and risk:
•    Coordinate and manage small to moderate projects that require coordination across internal departments/divisions.
•    Oversee our vendors and partners’ development tasks ensuring compliance with established Flowers methodologies and practices.
•    Analyze and evaluate business requirements to come up with best technical design.
•    Develop and update user documentation, written instructions, training guides, manuals and materials for users and applications support staff.
•    Create programming specifications for small to moderate system enhancements and modifications.
•    Coach, motivate and mentor entry level analysts and consultants.
•    Manage project assignments using standard project management methodologies and deliverables.
•    Provide status updates.
•    Be available for on and off hour system support.
•    Create and maintain unit testing scripts.
•    Execute unit, system and integration testing.
•    Create and maintain techno/functional specifications, design and system documentation.
•    Ensure that applications processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, environmental and technical policies and applicable standards.
•    Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
•    Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes – Oxley, etc.).
 

Desired Experience

•    Standard technical troubleshooting and support processes.
•    Hands on experience with Microsoft SQL server.
•    Project management methodologies.
•    Experience with unit, system and integration testing.
•    Experience with providing estimates for project deliverables.
•    Good knowledge of business processes, environment, users, and equipment.
•    Strong knowledge of network, Operating Systems, Database Systems, Programming, connections is a plus for support of solution architecture.
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in software design/development, mobile applications, application architecture, software integration
•    Minimum 5 years of experience in system troubleshooting and testing
•    Bakery, CPG, DSD industry experience preferred.

Desired Education

•    An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, engineering, finance, business management or a related field.
