KIPP Public Schools is a national network of free, open enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to supporting all students to reach their highest aspirations. There are 270 KIPP schools across the nation serving more than 120,000students. Nationally, KIPP students have a 4X higher graduation rate than that of their peers.
KIPP Metro Atlanta currently operates eleven KIPP schools including four primary schools, five middle schools, one K-6 school, and one high school, as well as the KIPP Forward program which supports students through college, career, and beyond.
Job Description
KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools' Regional Support Team seeks a Regional Technology Manager who is responsible for managing technology consultants/contractors.
As Regional Manager of Technology, your core responsibilities include:
Technology Management
- Daily run-the-business of the region’s growth including but not limited to the following areas:
- Application Management Services
- IT Service Desk
- End User Computing
- Voice/Data Networking
- Workplace Management
- Device Management
- In-field Technology
- Audit IT systems and assess their outcomes;
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs/laptops, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, mobile devices, and Office Automation equipment;
- Implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing and service provision;
- Oversee the IT policies and procedures to ensure that schools and regional offices operates effectively and reliably;
- Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations;
- Oversee IT daily operations, supervise systems and IT vendors;
- Implement strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure;
- Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems;
- Oversee IT Helpdesk operations and ticket system.
- Supervise installation and maintenance of computers, network equipment, servers, firewalls and other IT equipment;
- Special projects and other tasks as assigned by Director of Technology.
Administration and Finance
- Prepare and analyze reports as requested;
- Manage financial aspects of the IT department, including purchasing, payment processing, budgeting and budget review;
- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
- Manage vendor contracts for IT related services and ensures vendor compliance.
- Execute the region’s asset management plan for IT hardware, software and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with standards and relevance with industry security and audit norms;
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments outside the direct scope of security including networking, servers and application
Special Projects
- Manages effective implementation of annual technology projects.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
- N+ Certification / Cisco Network certification preferred
- Excellent understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and telecommunications systems
- Experience operating in a SOC2 or other security audited environment
- 2+ years management experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and technology projects
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
- Experience with switches, routers, and firewalls, VoIP Phone systems, SANs, VMWare SaaS preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work as a leader and as part of a team
- Ability to manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities
- Relentless results-orientation
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook and clerical proficiency
- Effective communicator (both written and verbal) ability to lead professional development
- Demonstrate sound judgment and steadiness in crisis situations

Additional Information
The salary range for this role is $70,000-$80,000 and depends on prior experience, as well as a benefits package including
