About the role

Ford Diagnostic Service Platform (FDSP) Business Owner

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

In this position...

The Ford Diagnostic Service Platform (FDSP) Business Owner is a critical role within the Service Systems and Architecture team. Reporting to the Service Systems and Architecture Supervisor, this individual acts as the primary gatekeeper and strategic lead for the FDSP ecosystem.

The mission of this role is to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution. You will oversee the development and production deployment processes, ensure data integrity, and manage application support. By navigating the intersection of Service Engineering and Ford IT, you will ensure that the platform remains robust, compliant, and aligned with the needs of our global service technicians and diagnostic products.

What you'll do...

Operational Governance & Deployment

  • Oversee and approve the production deployment of code and job schedule changes, ensuring strict adherence to established business processes. You will review, validate on-vehicle and approve API updates, data refresh requests, and application changes through IT-Connect and Application Policy Services. You will also manage application access requests to ensure security and compliance.

Agile Product Management

  • Serve as the primary lead for the product backlog. You will prioritize workflows and user stories following established Agile planning methodologies and JIRA-based project management. You will act as a Business Analyst to gather, refine, and translate complex requirements from stakeholders into actionable development tasks.

IT Collaboration & Business Continuity

  • Partner closely with Ford IT to support budget planning, including consumption and demand forecasting. You will be responsible for upholding Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and supporting business continuity by reviewing disaster recovery test procedures and results.

Field Support & Issue Resolution

  • Act as a point of escalation for field concerns. This includes identifying and resolving issues related to upstream/downstream applications and missing content, ensuring the platform consistently meets the high standards of Service Engineering and Operations (SEO).

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle information and servicing.
  • 3+ years of experience managing technical projects, release sign-off processes, and cross-functional timelines.
  • 2+ years of experience working with JIRA and Agile development frameworks.

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Computer Science (CS), Software Engineering (SE), Electrical Engineering (EE), or Mechanical Engineering (ME), or a related technical field.
  • Experience in Service Engineering and Operations (SEO)
  • Strong background in requirement gathering and translating business needs into technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with Ford IT processes (IT-Connect, Application Policy Services).
  • Understanding of API structures and data management workflows.
  • Experience with release management and production environment sign-off.
  • Vehicle Protocols: Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, UDS, and DoIP.
  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools or service engineering environments.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with both engineering teams and IT departments.
  • Strategic Planning: Experience in budget planning and demand forecasting for large-scale applications.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive approach to resolving field concerns and optimizing system performance.
