In this role, you may:
- Architect and build test systems for complex sub-systems
- Develop test procedures and execute test plans
- Collect test data, perform data analysis, and document results
- Conduct test readiness reviews
- Align with various stakeholders on test planning activities
- Lead board level design verification for various satellite sub-systems
- Influence overall test strategy by helping define system test requirements
- Maintain requirements traceability during testing
- Work with design teams to debug issues

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
This engineer will be a member of the Hardware Test, Verification, and Validation Team with responsibilities for developing hardware test fixtures and test automation for validation of various avionics and payload subsystems. This is a cross-functional role requiring constant interaction with multiple HW/SW design teams and end-users.
About the team
This engineer will have the opportunity to be a member of the Hardware Test, Verification, and Validation Team working within the wider Electrical Engineering Team. This highly collaborative group of engineers has a diverse range of backgrounds and knowledge and is looking for help to build a scalable and reliable test automation solution for both validation and production purposes.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Redmond, WA, USA
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in board level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products; OR 5+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems including integrating test software
- 5+ years experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification.
- 5+ years’ experience in the use of standard electronic lab test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
- Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule testing resources
- Solid understanding of EE and test fundamentals
- Experience in test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016)
- Knowledge of hardware and software tools for test automation (e.g. NI, dSPACE, Python, C/C++, Labview, etc.)
- Experience with power supplies, IMUs, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization
- Experience with design or test of circuit boards with complex microcontrollers, system-on-chip (SOCs), or FPGAs
- Experience with design or test of communication busses, switching power supplies, electric motors, IMUs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization
- Experience in design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity and protocol compliance
- Experience with development of acceptance, production and qualification test plans and associated aerospace standards (GEVS / SMC-S-016)
- Experience with development of automated test systems
- Experience with incoming calibration checks and developing calibration procedures
- Experience in reviewing requirements to support various test phases
- Experience as the technical lead, leading small groups of other test engineers across multiple designs
- Excellent communication, leadership skills and sense of ownership and drive
