What does a successful Senior SDET Engineer do at Fiserv?

Join Clover’s Core POS QA team as a Quality Assurance Engineer and play a critical role in ensuring the stability and reliability of our flagship Point of Sale system. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team focused on delivering high-quality testing, tackling automation challenges, and driving long-term product excellence. If you’re passionate about quality, thrive in fast-paced environments, and bring deep POS expertise, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on a product used by businesses around the world.

What you will do:

  • Partner with product owners and engineers to understand real-world use cases, define clear acceptance criteria, and translate them into detailed test plans and scripts—both manual and automated.
  • Champion the voice of the customer by evaluating software from their perspective, identifying usability issues, and contributing ideas for improving product quality and user experience.
  • Design and execute thorough test strategies—including functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing—to ensure each release meets our highest quality standards.
  • Build, maintain, and improve automated testing frameworks and test scripts for UI and API layers, using modern tools and best practices to drive efficiency and consistency.
  • Debug software and investigate failures using a structured, analytical approach to uncover the root cause of issues and provide actionable feedback to developers.
  • Manage and maintain test environments, including setup and teardown for internal teams and external partners, so testing runs smoothly and reliably.
  • Document and track bugs clearly and effectively, and provide detailed reports to help the team prioritize and resolve issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with other QA engineers to continuously refine our automation strategy and testing practices, including performance and load testing frameworks.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably Computer Science or Engineering) or equivalent combination of experience, education and military.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA and/or software development, with a strong focus on quality and user experience.
  • 3+ years of experience programming or scripting in languages such as Java, TypeScript, or Python, especially for test automation.
  • Proficiency in Java and experience with test automation tools.
  • Solid experience testing REST APIs, using tools like Postman to validate functionality and ensure data accuracy.
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex queries to validate data and support backend testing.
  • Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking systems like JIRA, Confluence, ALM, or MTM to document, track, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Experience testing all layers of modern applications, including front-end, APIs, and back-end services, ensuring full coverage and quality across the stack.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills, you’re confident in explaining issues and ideas clearly to technical and non-technical teammates.

What would be great to have:

  • Exposure to QA automation methodologies and tools - Appium, Espresso and UI Automator.
  • Karate and Cypress for API Automation/Web Automation.
