The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers' financial analysis team translates raw numbers into actionable insights to tell the story of past financial results and forecast possibilities into the future.This Senior Manager, Financial Analysis will be an integral part of Personal Insurance Finance’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. The primary focus of this role is to oversee the competitive intelligence function that provides competitor & industry insights to business partners and leaders in Personal Insurance and across Travelers. Additionally, the role will support the broader FP&A team on market and strategic financial reporting and analysis.
What Will You Do?
- Manage the competitor earnings process by providing coaching, training, mentoring and oversight of Personal Insurance Finance on analysis for individual competitors. Does not have direct reports.
- Synthesize individual competitor results to clearly communicate key themes for analysis package distributed and presented to various levels of leadership.
- Prepare and present financial insights to financial leaders and/or functional teams, respond to inquiries from business partners and senior leaders across the organization utilizing available competitor and industry resources to help inform strategic decisions.
- Manage the creation of complex analyses to support business strategy. Lead the update of industry reporting and analysis efforts for US and Canada to identify key industry trends.
- Drive enhancements to work products and processes, including building out tracking for new carriers (i.e. Insurtechs) and development of competitor scorecards.
- Provide support to the overall Financial Reporting and Planning team, including the financial close and planning processes.
- Participate and/or lead other workflows, including strategic meetings, presentations, initiatives, and other financial support.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education.
- Experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles and processes and accounting practices and principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of management.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and develop employees.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
- Ability to think strategically and use judgement to resolve issues as they arise.

- Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g.
- Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g.
- TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).
- Ability to understand how supported area’s business strategy and plan objectives align with enterprise goals.
What is a Must Have?
- Four years of finance, financial planning, accounting, or related experience.
