Description

Job Summary:


The Inventory Control Cycle Counter is responsible for conducting physical counts of parts and products in the warehouse and comparing them to system records to ensure the accuracy and completeness of product inventory. This position is also responsible for investigating and resolving discrepancies in inventory records, including count numbers and product location, as well as updating inventory systems with accurate information. The Inventory Control Cycle Counter works closely with other team members to maintain inventory accuracy and make recommendations for improvements.


Essential Functions:


· Checks warehouse stock locations using a computer and hand scanner to ensure product and parts are stored according to their system locations.

· Corrects stock levels when audits reveal variations from expected numbers.

· Notifies supervisors and/or management when stock levels vary significantly from expected in order to make a determination on next steps or corrective actions if necessary.

· Performs root cause analysis to determine why product counts and/or locations vary from the system.

· Operates forklifts and/or other powered industrial trucks to lower pallets containing parts and place them back on warehouse shelves.

· Responds to inquiries from employees regarding product numbers and location, and provides guidance as needed.

· Assist with receiving duties, including unloading deliveries, verifying quantities, and updating inventory records.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:


· Attention to detail: Must be able to accurately count and record inventory levels.

· Computer skills: Must be able to input data quickly and accurately into computer systems and spreadsheets.

· Mathematical skills: Basic arithmetic skills are necessary for accurately counting inventory and ensuring that quantities are recorded correctly.

· Time management skills: The person should be able to efficiently manage their time in order to complete the counting process in a timely manner.

· Communication skills: Good communication skills are necessary in order to work effectively with other warehouse personnel.

· Organization skills: The person should be able to keep track of inventory levels, discrepancies, and system updates in a organized and systematic manner.

· Ability to work independently: The person should be able to work independently and make decisions based on their own observations and knowledge of product and inventory systems.

· Follow directions: The ability to follow established procedures while performing tasks, using tools, and handling materials. Carefully consider and follow instructions to complete tasks and deliver required results.

· Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.


Preferred Education and Experience:


· A high school diploma/GED, or equivalent work experience.

· At least one year of experience in a warehouse environment.

· Experience with inventory management using computer systems equivalent to SysPro.
