Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates, in support of final bid packages    
  • Prepares written and graphic reports and makes presentations    
  • Develops surface water hydraulic, hydrologic, and hydrodynamic modeling
  • Performs engineering calculations to solve problems related to surface water and drainage
  • Analyzes system flow, flood risk, and mitigation alternatives
  • Addresses local, state, and federal flood management regulations
  • Prepares exhibits, reports, and presentations to illustrate findings and recommendations
  • Coordinates with government agencies, local authorities, contractors, and internal team members
  • Prepares various draft documents, including reports and technical memoranda
  • Performs 1D and 2D riverine hydraulic modeling
  • Complete data and engineering analyses and GIS mapping
  • Conduct coastal studies, flood risk management, coastal restoration, and shoreline stabilization projects, including coastal structure planning and 
  • Interest in planning and design of public spaces at the land-water interface, resort planning and recreational boating facilitites
  • Complete data and engineering analyses and GIS mapping
  • Perform field work as needed
  • Assist with project types including:
    • Wetland restoration
    • Dredging
    • Waterfront structures
    • Coastal and environmental protection initiatives
    • Ecological surveys

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university degree program  
  • Master’s in civil engineering with an emphasis on Water Resources or Coastal Engineering
  • Engineering in Training License
  • Design skills desired (GIS, CIVIL 3D, AutoCAD, Google earth engine etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) 
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions: 

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
