POSITION SUMMARY
The Application Support Specialist, for practice management systems, will be the IT lead for practices moving to new practice management systems and will provide subject matter expertise for those systems (Cloud 9 and Denticon primarily). This role functions within the larger IT organization and may be called on to perform other application support tasks such as Microsoft Office 365 support.
As the technical lead for PMS migrations, this role will assess existing PMS integrations and work with existing vendors to transition their services to the new PMS and/or will work with the practice to find suitable alternatives when the existing solution will not work with the incoming solution.
Requirements
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Experience troubleshooting application issues and diagnosing issues reported by non-technical users
- Work with external vendors to escalate support needs for specialized equipment (e.g. x-ray / imaging devices)
- Develop plans and track task to coordinate activities for multiple vendors engaged in a practice software conversions
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and apply knowledge from one system to another
- Collaborate with project management to ensure over all project timelines and objectives are met
- Collaborate with training team to provide input on training programs and insight into areas where staff are struggling and may need more training
- Provide timely communication on issues, documenting requests in our Zendesk ticket tracking system and ensuring tickets are closed when work is completed
- Escalate issues to other IT team members as needed

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field. Previous experience supporting doctors offices and/or dental practices preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of IT experience including remote support.
Computer Knowledge:
Windows 7-11, SharePoint, M365, PC hardware, healthcare practice management systems, imaging systems.
