Position Specific Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Project Manager of Construction Diligence to oversee and manage all aspects of construction diligence for our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, project evaluation, and risk assessment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects while mitigating any potential risks.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of construction diligence professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of construction projects, from initial evaluation to completion, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, regulations, and project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough site visits and assessments to identify potential risks, evaluate construction progress, address any issues or concerns, and recommend necessary corrective measures.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence on construction projects, including reviewing project plans, contracts, budgets, and schedules, to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Support development of automation tools for diligence including, LiDar, satellite footage, and geotech desktop data to reduce the reliance on onsite presence
  • Manage priorities for micro-siting activities across all technology leads.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, legal, finance, and procurement, to ensure effective coordination and timely completion of construction projects.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, best practices, and quality control measures to optimize construction diligence activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and new technologies in the construction field and implement innovative strategies to enhance the diligence process.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Foster strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and other external entities to ensure project success and leverage opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and adherence to environmental standards throughout all construction projects.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for the overall management of assigned organization and projects, to ensure compliance within required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site. Successful candidates manage the engineering, procurement and construction oversight-activities necessary to develop, license/permit, erect, start-up, and commence commercial operations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Works collaboratively with resources in various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans
•   Meets corporate objectives with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resources
•   Manages department resources to provide effective early-stage project development support
•   Ensures projects are efficiently, effectively and safely implemented in accordance with department procedures and policies
•   Manages walk down of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approves contractor payment requests
•   Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocations, assesses field status and resolves issues as needed
•   Leads project meetings and reviews budget, risk tracker, and contingency allocations
•   Interfaces with project's designated management committees, or acts as Executive Director of project activities
•   Supervises activities and/or coordinates activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget, and analysis and contract administration
•   Oversees commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives, with limited project management, scheduling and estimating resour
