The role of a Certified Procedural Coding Specialist – Surgical Specialist is crucial in ensuring accurate coding and billing for surgical procedures, contributing to efficient revenue cycle management and compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires a strong foundation in medical coding practices, continuous learning, and effective communication with healthcare teams.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS/GED with one of the following certifications : CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Health Information Management or related field or High School diploma or equivalent with two years of experience (I.e. ability to code any record from any service).
• 2 years coding experience to be able to code at hospital level, including surgical CPT coding (ability to code any record from any service).
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Health Information Management or related
