Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Project Manager/Lead Rail Engineer in a key role for delivering of mid/large size rail projects based out of the AECOM Omaha, Nebraska office. The professional selected for this high-profile regional opportunity will lead with technical expertise, staff mentoring to help team members learn and flourish in their roles, while supporting and becoming familiar with the core values and culture at AECOM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid/large-size projects.
  • Develops and provides estimates for rail engineering budgets and schedules to meet requirements of projects.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design efforts
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Approves and signs off on work deliverables.
  • Performs quality control reviews of rail engineering deliverables developed by others.
  • Performs project management responsibilities on projects and will become a certified AECOM PM with 12 months of hire date.
  • Leads technical client relationships and works collaboratively with Client Account Manager.
  • Assists with the development of a strong marketing plan to win rail pursuits with targeted clients.
  • Leads and participates in development of rail technical proposals.
  • Builds and leads a rail design group of 3-5 project managers and engineers.
  • Leader in one or more areas of technology. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • BA/BS + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineering license in Nebraska (or ability to obtain)
  • 8 years of relevant experience in rail design, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proficient with OpenRoads/OpenRail or other BIM Software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D/GeoPak)
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
  • Be detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and writing skill

Additional Information

  • Travel may be required for this position.
  • Due to nature of the involved project U.S. work- sponsorship is not available with this opportunity.
  • Offered rate of compensation (Omaha, Neb.) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $140,000.00 - $180,000.00
