South Pointe Hospital’s 7th Floor Med/Surg and Observation Unit focuses on healing and surgery while providing comprehensive care and services to adults with a wide variety of diagnoses, such as chest pain, stomach pain, or generalized weakness. With such variety, no two days are the same, but you will be surrounded every day by a team of long-standing caregivers who welcome you with open arms 

 

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.  

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

• Educate patients and their families.   

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

• One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
