What you will do
Johnson Controls has an exciting opportunity for a Controls Service Technician! This role offers a chance for travel and training customers and diagnosing/fixing complex technical issues in the security controls industry field. The team is based in Northbrook, IL, however; this role requires frequent customer site visits and travel. Get ready to jump start your career and make a difference for our customers!
How you will do it
Installation: Install, configure, and maintain access control systems including hardware and software components.
Repairs: Diagnose and fix issues with equipment
Troubleshooting: Identify problems and implement solutions
Customer support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers
Documentation: Keep records of services performed, assets used, and customer interactions
Training: Train customers on how to use and maintain their equipment
Travel: Frequently visit customer sites to provide on-site service. Must be willing to travel 100% of the time.
What you will need
Required
4+ years experience in servicing and installing access control systems
Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar role within the security industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of security systems, including access control mechanisms.
Familiarity with system design processes and mechanical knowledge related to installation practices.
Ability to build strong relationships with clients through effective communication and customer service skills.
Problem-solving skills
Technical aptitude
Ability to work independently and in a team
Strong hand and eye coordination
Physical strength to lift, bend, stoop, walk, and squat
