About the role

Do you love to read? Are you equally passionate about solving complex technical problems and building great customer experiences? Kindle is looking for a senior product manager to drive the strategy and vision for the core customer experience on Kindle's mobile apps. This product manager will be responsible for building innovative mobile features to help customers engage with Kindle, and ultimately get more out of reading.

The successful candidate will have led popular “must-have” consumer apps, combining passion for amazing customer experiences with the ability to work closely with design and engineering to find creative solutions to tough challenges. She or he must be highly analytical and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, simple products and apps that customers love. Kindle is an iconic product and a thriving business adored by customers around the world – but it’s still “day one” in inspiring the world to read more and get more out of reading every day. Key job responsibilities
- Set a bold vision for the Kindle app experience, in partnership with UX and engineering, and collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders to evangelize and create buy-in for the vision.
- Drive positive business outcomes for reading by delivering product innovation that customers love.
- Define the feature sets, business requirements, measures of success, and roadmap for Kindle mobile app experience.
- Rapidly iterate based on behavioral measurements, customer feedback, and other data sources to ensure we are building the right features over time.
- Provide mentorship and best practices to the broader product management organization.


About the team
The Kindle Customer Experience Product Management team owns the customer facing software experiences across all Kindle devices and apps - ranging from how you read, navigate, acquire content and more. Our mission is to be the world's favorite place to read, write and get more out of reading.

Basic Qualifications


- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

- MBA and BS in computer science or related technical field
- Experience developing mobile products, especially ones which have cracked the top 100 mobile apps.
- Experience of rapid experimentation and using quantitative and qualitative data to back up assumptions, develop business cases, and measure success.
- History working on complex digital products (preferably end-customer-facing) through multiple lifecycles.
- Ability to think both strategically and tactically; equally comfortable with long-term planning and day-to-day progress tracking and execution.
- Interest in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
- Strong collaboration skills. You have a proven ability to work across functions and across marketplaces to influence senior leaders. You quickly earn the trust of people with which you work.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
