A Day in the Life
The Senior Director, Marketing – New Product Introduction (NPI) is responsible for leading global launch strategy and commercialization planning for new products. This role ensures innovations successfully transition from development to market by driving launch excellence, cross-functional readiness, and effective global-to-regional commercialization.
The leader will partner with upstream marketing, R&D, Sales, Market Access, and Operations teams to ensure new products are introduced effectively and achieve strong market adoption.
Key responsibilities
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Lead global commercialization strategy and launch planning for new products across the portfolio.
Develop and implement standardized launch frameworks, processes, and best practices.
Drive cross-functional launch readiness across marketing, sales, supply chain, regulatory, and operations teams.
Translate product strategy into actionable go-to-market plans including segmentation, positioning, pricing strategy, and launch campaigns.
Partner with regional marketing teams to ensure effective global-to-local execution of launch strategies.
Lead development of launch assets including marketing materials, clinical messaging, training programs, and sales enablement tools.
Monitor launch performance and market adoption, adjusting strategies to accelerate growth and penetration.
Ensure alignment between launch timelines, product availability, and supply chain readiness.
Lead post-launch reviews to capture insights and continuously improve launch processes.
Build and develop a high-performing team focused on launch excellence and commercialization.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience (people or program), or advanced degree with a minimum 13 years prior relevant experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience (people or program).
Nice to Have:
MBA or advanced degree.
Demonstrated success leading global product launches in medical technology or healthcare.
Strong experience developing go-to-market strategies and commercialization plans.
Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, operations, regulatory, and sales teams.
Strong project management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.
Experience operating within complex global organizations.
Ability to travel as necessary to conduct business, attend meetings and conferences.
Experience working in highly matrixed, global organizations.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
