About the role

Crowell School of Business Assistant Coordinator

The Crowell School of Business Assistant Coordinator plays a key support role in enhancing the undergraduate student experience through the coordination and administration of student services and program operations. This part-time position assists with tracking internship and workshop requirements, processing graduation applications, maintaining student records, coordinating events, and supporting other administrative functions that contribute to student success and departmental efficiency. The Assistant Coordinator reports directly to the Undergraduate Programs Manager and collaborates with faculty, students, and staff to ensure the effective delivery of undergraduate program services.

Work Requirements
Part-time (20 hours per week)
10 months per year (Aug - May)
May require occasional evening hours to support student events, workshops, and departmental activities.
This position requires personal attendance at Biola’s campus in La Mirada, CA

Essential Duties
Student Support & Administrative Services
Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
Provide support during peak student service periods (e.g., pre-registration, orientation, transfer intake).
Help coordinate peer advisor communications and student follow-ups.
Respond to general student inquiries regarding academic processes, forms, requirements, and deadlines.
Assist with the processing and tracking of student forms, graduation applications, internship requirements, and workshop completion records.

Events & Workshops
Assist in the planning and execution of student events including career workshops, orientation activities, undergrad intensives and special programs like the Junior Mentorship Program.
Coordinate logistics such as room reservations, calendar listings, materials prep, hospitality, and event follow-up. 
Liaise with guest speakers and presenters as needed.

Administrative & Operational Support
Maintain and update student tracking tools and departmental records.
Help manage the internship and workshops documentation process and assist students with submissions.
Contribute to the accuracy of internal scheduling, catalog reviews, and departmental documentation.

Other Duties as Assigned
Participate in department meetings, trainings, and strategic planning sessions.
Provide general office support including data entry, calendar management, and document preparation.
Assist with front desk operations and customer service duties as needed.

Required Skills/Qualifications

Education & Experience:
Associate’s degree or some college coursework required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience working in an academic, administrative, or student support role preferred.
Familiarity with higher education systems (e.g., Banner, Canvas) a plus.

Skills:
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in data handling

Hiring Range: $22.40 - 24.00 per hour
