Job Description
Visa Cybersecurity Architecture & Product Engineering team is looking for interns focusing on the research and development of security analytics solutions. As a Research Scientist intern you will work with Visa's world-class cybersecurity teams on emerging security challenges to deliver innovative security solutions as well as insights to Visa Cybersecurity's AI strategy. You will work on research and development activities with cutting-edge security technologies, vast amount of real-world data, and multiple mission-critical security operations/engineering teams to build technologies that protect billions of transactions happening all over the world. You will also present and demo the research solutions to various stakeholders on a regular basis.
This role represents an exciting opportunity to make key contributions to Visa's strategic vision as the world-leading digital payments company. The successful candidate must have a strong academic track record in applied research. The candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong interest in security technologies, and excellent collaboration skills.
Job duties and projects may include:
Research and develop security solutions for:
- Threat modeling/analysis for AIaaS and other emerging AI service scenarios
- Account Take Over (ATO) protection
- Behavioral Biometrics
- Adversarial threats to AI services, as well as the corresponding prevention, detection, and defensive mechanisms for AI services
- AI-aided security incident triaging and response
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Students pursuing a Ph.D. with a graduation date in December 2024 or later in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field
- Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Genuine interest in cyber security and applied research
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong research and/or engineering experience track record
- Research experience in one or more research areas related to Systems Security, Machine Learning, and Big Data Platforms.
- Proficient model implementation and data wrangling skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong research and/or engineering experience track record
- Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
- Proficient model implementation and data wrangling skills.
- Hands-on experience and/or academic background translating problem statements into corresponding solution design, infrastructure, or workflow needs
- Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity
Additional Information
U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $46/hr to $52/hr, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
