Overview of Position:

Primary focus is to support the operational efficiency of Genesis Outpatient Pharmacies businesses by coordinating fiscal management activities, performing data analysis and maintaining departmental statistics and reports. This role is responsible for developing, preparing, and maintaining quality data analytics that will be utilized by Genesis Outpatient Pharmacies leaders across various settings and promote new opportunities for the organization. Utilizing delivering the data to make effective change and enhancing efficiencies and optimal revenue. Development of best practices in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data. Project management, cost accounting, and IT skills will be employed to work with multiple levels of management across the health system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1.    Third Party Plan Analysis and Assessment:

  • Determine effective plan reimbursement levels and factors affecting those metrics
  • Analyze and report on direct and indirect remuneration (DIR) fees  
  • Explore, discover, and propose performance enhancing opportunities
  • Find transactional anomalies and determine impact analysis
  • Measure and identify the impact of different third-party insurance plans on overall operations
  • Assist with third party plan participation decisions with Genesis leadership
  • Contractual compliance and review

2.    Prescription Data Analysis

  • Retrieve and analyze prescription records 
  • "Data Mine” and report on various Ad Hoc requests 
  • Produce reports based on financial, payor, clinical and other defined variables to aid in business decisions

3.    Compliance Assessment

     Works closely with Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager and Director to: 

  • Maintain knowledge and be experienced with Ohio Pharmacy Laws and how they apply to operations 
  • Understands third party plan contractual requirements stays current on all addendums and amendments
  • Oversees all audits, analysis, and follow-up.

4.    Oversees the Inventory Control Specialist to:

  • Create and maintain inventory tracking and control reports 
  • Assist, determine and adjust inventory targets and thresholds based on best practice and historical data 
  • Assess inventory management effectiveness
  • Support store managers with data, tools and guidance/training

5.    Pharmacy Financial Analysis
Assess key business statements: 

  • Balance Sheet — total assets & total liabilities (net worth)
  • Income Statement — revenue & expenses (performance of business)
  • Operational Equity — retained earnings over time (health of business)
  • Cash Flow — cash in & cash out (viability of business) 

6.    Store Performance

  • Identify, measure and compare performance metrics 
  • Identify operational deficiencies and opportunities to address and improve.
  • Maintain, refine, and enhance the Genesis Outpatient Pharmacies Dashboard

7.    Policy and Procedure Development

  • Participate in policy and procedure development and implementation
  • Serves as an active member on the Genesis leadership team

9.    Assists Director with special projects as assigned.
 

QUALIFICATIONS
1.    Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, business administration, or related field. In place of a bachelor's degree, an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience may be considered.
2.    Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a management or supervisory role. 
3.    Minimum of one (1) year of experience in business intelligence and/or data analytics 
4.    Minimum one (1) year of experience working on business intelligence projects  
5.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to listen and convey messages clearly and concisely 
6.    Excellent organization and follow-up skills and the ability to take initiative as well as a pro
