Position Overview
The Quarry Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of equipment for rock crushing operations. The career field for “Quarry Equipment Operator” includes, but may not be limited to, the following equipment: Front End Loader, Articulating Haul Truck, Skid Loader, Crushing Plant, Plant Maintenance, Plant Teardown/Setup. This position will require travel from Southeast Iowa to Central Iowa IE: Donnellson, Farmington, West Point, Danville, Mediapolis, Burlington, and to Le Grand, IA.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights, safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
- Follow direction of Foreman as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
- Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of equipment to further their abilities.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

Education/Experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Experience preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate who is looking to learn.
Work Requirements
- Must be 18 years in age or older.
- Must drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
