What You Will Do

  • The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

  • Experience with troubleshooting, patching, and support of Linux Systems.

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. 

  • Experience with Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. 

  • Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

  • Experience with data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.

  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. 

  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

  • Full time 100% Onsite position.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • SME level experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies:  Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, BackupExec, NetBackup, NETAPP, networking administration experience, Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suites.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active DoD T/S clearance, or the ability to obtain one. 

  • Experience with Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

  • Experience in DevSecOps, containerization, Kubernetes

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk and ESXi and/or other virtual computing methods.

  • Scripting/ automation PowerShell, Bash

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) and an Operating System Certification. 

  • Direct working experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.

  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.

  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.

  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.
