Job Description

TopBuild is a highly acquisitive company, having been growing rapidly since its IPO in 2015. The company grew from $1.7B to $5.2B in 2023 and aspires to continue to grow over the next several years. Due to the rapid growth, we are seeking to hire a Sr. Manager, Systems & Cloud Engineering & Operations that will support the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure to drive the transformation of our infrastructure to ensure business resilience, operational excellence, and scalability.

The Sr. Manager will have the opportunity to contribute to enterprise infrastructure strategies and to develop a cloud approach partnered with Cybersecurity, Solution Delivery, and Business Applications. A major focus for the leader of this function will be implementing standard operating processes, procedures, driving operational excellence and managing systems engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of systems administrators responsible for overseeing Microsoft Windows Servers and Unix Servers. Enhance the team to include cloud capabilities.
• Direct the design, engineering, and operational support of all compute and storage services, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft O365 Services, Exchange Online, VMWare Virtualization, NetApp Storage, and Oracle EBS infrastructure.
• Oversee day-to-day management and strategic enhancements of the company’s compute and storage resources.
• Drive workload migration strategies from on-premise environments to Azure Cloud, ensuring seamless and efficient transitions.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for technical issues, providing expertise and support for complex problem-solving.
• Collaborate closely with the Director and other IT functions to align infrastructure initiatives with the overall IT strategy.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with a focus on systems engineering.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a technical team responsible for Microsoft and Unix Servers in highly virtualized environments utilizing VMWare Virtualization.
• Hands-on experience with compute and storage management, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft O365, Exchange Online, VMware, NetApp Storage, and Oracle EBS.
• Experience with migrating and managing workloads in the Azure Cloud.
• Effective problem-solving abilities, technical acumen, and experience serving as an escalation point for complex issues.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Compensation

The compensation for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience. It will include a base salary, performance-based incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
