40 Hours


Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a full time Cook in their Nutritional Services Department. The successful applicant will perform an assigned variety of general food service tasks. This individual will prepare and cook nutritious meals for patients, residents, guests and employees while working collaboratively with other healthcare providers.

Duties include but not limited to:

1. Follows standardized recipes, making suggestions if needed in revising recipes.

2. Sets up tray line for service.

3. Prepares well-presented plates during meal service, including garnishes when applicable.

4. Follows food safety and HACCP protocols.

5. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station.

6. Familiar with cross contamination and practices proper hand hygiene between food tasks.

7. Monitors equipment quality, reporting any malfunctioning equipment to the Lead.

Requirements

Requirements

1. High school or GED preferred.

2. Ability to relate professionally with other hospital staff.


License Recommendations:

1. Obtain ServSafe certification within 1 year of hire.

Schedule:

With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
