Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Inspector to support the maintenance, servicing, inspection, and airworthiness of our corporate aircraft fleet.
This is primarily a hands-on aircraft maintenance role responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and servicing activities on corporate aircraft. The successful candidate will help ensure aircraft are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Caterpillar standards while supporting safe and reliable flight operations.
Reporting to the Aircraft Maintenance Manager, this position will serve as one of two Senior Aircraft Maintenance Inspectors and work closely alongside a team of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians supporting Caterpillar's corporate aviation operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong corporate aviation maintenance experience, particularly supporting Gulfstream and/or Bombardier aircraft, along with a commitment to safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and servicing activities.
- Ensure aircraft airworthiness and compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct daily, periodic, and major aircraft inspections and document findings accurately.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose aircraft mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and related system issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions to ensure aircraft reliability and operational readiness.
- Review and complete maintenance logs, inspection records, and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with technicians, vendors, service providers, and flight operations personnel.
- Support maintenance planning efforts and help ensure aircraft availability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accountability for tools, equipment, and work areas while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Support FAA inspections, quality audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Travel occasionally to support aircraft maintenance activities outside of the primary location.
Basic Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience maintaining corporate aircraft.
- Experience performing aircraft maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and servicing activities.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance requirements.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply aircraft maintenance manuals, technical documentation, and engineering data.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining Gulfstream G500/700 aircraft.
- Experience supporting Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft.
- Corporate aviation or executive flight department experience.
- Experience performing advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance planning and reliability programs.
- Prior experience mentoring technicians or serving in a lead maintenance role.
