Position Description:

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Professor of Surgery, Term track, Department of Surgery, at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine. The Department of Surgery is seeking a general surgeon at the Assistant Professor level to join our Division of General Surgery.  The successful candidate must have completed general surgery training at an ACGME accredited program. The ideal candidate would have experience in training residents and students in general and acute care surgery.   Applicants are expected to have a genuine interest and commitment to general surgery and general surgery training.  Questions about the position and/or the application process may be directed to Dr. Jason Smith, Jasonw.smith@louisville.edu

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a proven track record of successful completion of a general surgery residency program.  The University of Louisville is affiliated with various hospitals in the community and offers opportunity to develop a practice with a specialty emphasis as needed for research purposes.  Specialty fellowship training is required for this academic position. The candidate will have expert skills and an interest in teaching and academic productivity in clinical areas.
