Purpose

This position is responsible for providing breakfast, lunch and snack for up to 200 children.

Responsibilities

  • Menu planning, pricing and purchasing of food on a weekly basis.
  • Prepares lunch and two snacks on a daily basis.
  • Practices appropriate sanitation and hygiene methods in food preparation and maintenance of the kitchen in accordance of health and safety requirements.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly kitchen.
  • Monitors food and supplies.  Anticipates needed items in a timely manner.
  • Maintain CACFP (USDA) guidelines for food program.
  • Supervise kitchen assistant.

Required Qualifications

Food Managers' Certificate. Minimum one year experience in institutional or commercial cooking. Administrative skills necessary to complete paperwork. Kitchen math skills.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$43,000

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to heat and equipment common in a kitchen.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • When required, ability to lift.

Work Shift

  • M-F, flexible hours between 6:00am -4:00pm as needed.
