Aptiv is seeking an energetic Technical Delivery Manager for its Regional Software Applications Team in Troy, MI.
Job Summary:
The Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) role is an essential member of the software development team. Our TDM’s lead teams of experienced and highly skilled project and technical leaders in the delivery of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), User Experience (UX), Radar, and Compute and Security (C&S) products. Aptiv develops cutting edge Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems which enhances vehicle safety. Studies show just a half a second more warning can mitigate or prevent 60 percent of accidents. The underlying features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance technologies (and more) that have the power to prevent accidents and save lives.
Your Role:
The key job functions for the Technical Deliver Manager are as follows:
Project Delivery
Oversee software development (design, resources, risks) & execution in order to achieve all deliverables within the customer development timing commitments
Ensure that engineering budget and headcount needs across projects are accurate and targets are met
Ensure compliance with project development processes and organizational transformation initiatives
Responsible to align resources and projects to meet project goals and ensure projects are delivered within quoted budget and headcount
Own total software program quality
Developing and leading engineering proposals, for the software team, to win targeted business opportunities
Achieve department metrics in the areas of budget compliance, release timing and ASPICE compliance
Supervisory
Lead and develop the customer application engineering team; ensure training, coaching and mentoring of Software Architects and Project Owners
Lead and oversee the software project planning, prioritization and technical development of software programs within the Department
Work with Software Architects and Software Project Owners to understand and prioritize SW development work
Drive Department Competency Excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfection
Your Background:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
10+ years of experience as embedded software developer or Systems engineer
5+ years of experience with software project management leading global teams
Possesses good communication skills
