Job Description:

We are looking for an action-oriented, experienced, hands-on Senior Director of Finance, Global Operations, who can lead and coordinate operations finance business partnering, cost accounting, and team leadership and mentoring for BW Converting Solutions’ Global operations, including major manufacturing operations in US, Italy, Germany, and Serbia. Process standardization, business partnering, controls implementation and management, as well as hands-on leadership are all critical functions for this role.  Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Finance, this leader will support the Executive Vice President of Operations to minimize costs and variances, track operational and relevant financial metrics, and manage working capital, with focus on inventory reduction, increasing vendor payment terms, and prioritizing capital investments

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership for global operations finance team, spanning multiple sites, countries, and ERP systems.
  • Implement a monthly operation review to present to executive leadership
  • Act as a financial advisor for operational and supply chain decisions, improvements, and investments. 
  • Effectively communicate detailed cost and operations information to multiple types of audiences.
  • Partner with operations to lead the annual budget and monthly forecasting cycles including expenses, absorption, utilization, productivity cost out, supply chain cost out, footprint rationalization, inventory, days payable outstanding, and capital investments.
  • Identify and support cost and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinates standardization of standard cost data and accounting for manufacturing variances, scrap, rework cost, through direct engagement of our production teams and produces internal metrics to enhance understanding and establish action items to aid in the control of these costs.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reviews.
  • Participate in external audits and implement any corrective findings.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Assists operations in understanding and improving production variances.
  • Leads global capital investment business cases and prioritization
  • Partner with inventory management on cycle count programs to improve perpetual inventory processes.
  • Lead finance support for inventory and working capital strategies.
  • Support monthly excess and obsolete inventory review.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new processes, procedures, features, and controls to improve accounting productivity and workflow across the company.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain opportunities to best utilize ERP and related software to ensure reliable controls, increase profitability, and improve working capital.
  • Participate in the global ERP project as needed.
  • Support with other special projects, as required.

Experience qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CMA a plus.
  • 10+ years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; 3-5 years in a cost accounting capacity.
  • Exhibits a strong bias for action and drive for results.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations as well as lean principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and organization. Ability to flex appropriately between details and summaries depending on the audience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
