Overview:
Howe Sound Pulp & Paper is currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join our Team. As a valued member of our Procurement Team and working with the support of the Manager, Supply Chain, you will source, procure and manage inventory of designated commodities. Lead strategic negotiate and secure services as required to support Company operations and projects, and accountable for/support general purchasing as assigned while assuring all activities are performed in an ethical, economical and quality manner. Cost control measures, detailed inventory analysis, project progress monitoring and scope management will be a primary focus.
Position Summary & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a personal and corporate commitment to Safety.
- Negotiate/secure services through sourcing and negotiations.
- Manage and negotiation of various contracts and contractor rates for site services.
- Procurement/management of inventory.
- Monitor market trends.
- Prioritization and multitask of duties to support immediate rush requirements
- May require flexibility in work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required to support operations when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Post Secondary designation in Supply Chain Management/Procurement or equivalent in Basic Purchasing Fundamentals required.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in Procurement, Materials Management, Project Management.
- Experience with Pulp and Paper industry an asset.
- SAP experience, MRP analysis, process and experience with Microsoft programs required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communications skills in both dynamic team environments and with vendors.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $76,500 - $93,500 CAD per annum (Actual salary offer will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
