Under the direction of the Clinic RN, provides direct patient care including treatments, medication and diagnostic studies. Provides other support services, dictated by patient needs, as a care delivery team member.
This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, Days. A minimum of 2 years LPN work experience is required.
Job Duties:
- Performs the duties of a Clinic LPN and serves as a role model in the delivery of quality patient care.
- Obtains and documents chief complaint, vital signs, and prepares patient for examination.
- Identifies and addresses physical, social and psychological needs of the patient and family to the registered nurse.
- Observes, identifies and documents patient condition and care according to the unit standard and reports changes in condition to registered nurse.
- Reinforces health teaching, collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork.
- Cleans and sets up exam rooms and treatment room between cases.
- Administers medication and treatments according to procedure and bills and documents accordingly.
- Prepares patient for diagnostic studies and surgical procedures and assists providers as necessary.
- Demonstrates responsibilities and accountability in daily operational issues.
- Inserts, monitors, regulates and discontinues IV's as required by provider.
- Responsible for maintaining clean utility room, soiled utility room, exam rooms and nursing station to Department of Health, Joint Commission and Unit standards.
- Assists in problem solving, trouble shooting, and taking corrective measure in care and handling of equipment.
- Participates in the evaluation and coordination of daily and weekly staffing; coordinates any changes with management.
- Coordinates purchasing activity, including but not limited to, monitoring inventory and supervising the ordering of items as needed.
