Responsibilities
- Spearhead day-to-day bookkeeping operations using Xero, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping
- Lead the charge in cleaning up historical financial data, setting the stage for improved financial clarity and decision-making
- Conduct comprehensive monthly reconciliations and generate insightful financial reports to drive business strategy
- Take ownership of year-end reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial statements
- Innovate and implement new work papers, systems, and processes to enhance financial operations
- Seamlessly integrate and reconcile data from inventory and point of sale systems, providing a holistic view of the business’s financial health
- Collaborate closely with the finance team, offering expert accounting support and contributing to financial planning initiatives
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for operational improvement
- Assist in budget preparation and forecasting, contributing to the company’s strategic financial planning
- Stay abreast of accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company’s financial practices remain compliant and up-to-date
Requirements
- Proven experience with Xero accounting software, with certification highly valued
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated understanding of hospitality industry accounting practices and challenges
- Experience with inventory management and point of sale system integrations in a multi-location business environment
- Meticulous attention to detail with a track record of maintaining high accuracy in financial records
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills, capable of thriving in a remote work environment
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a distributed team
- Flexible availability to work within AEST business hours (approximately 8 AM to 6 PM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or fast food industry
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new systems and processes in a rapidly growing business
