About the role:

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Field Service Representative II to join our dynamic Process Management team in Dartmouth. The work of a Field Service Representative II is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Lifeline. In this role, you will be working on providing technical support in various aspects of biomedical engineering. You are also responsible for providing support services on an ongoing basis for installations, validations, preventative maintenance, demand maintenance and repairs of the specified centre and/or national Equipment Services equipment.  

 

Formula for success

• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance for Equipment Services equipment and Canadian Blood Services manufacturing equipment.
• Provides technical support and acts as a technical subject matter expert to the equipment owners.
• Generates documentation ensuring adherence to Canadian Blood Services corporate standards and applicable regulations.
• Under the direction of the regional supervisor is responsible for technical writing related to the equipment services program.
• Performs other related duties as required.

 

Desired education and skills

• Post-secondary level diploma in an electronics discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferable Biomedical/Clinical Engineering technology.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience with preference given to those in healthcare or laboratory fields.
• An acquired knowledge of the operations of a health-related organization and/or regulated environment.
• Experience with documentation of equipment service records in a highly regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Well-developed instructor skills to be used in a mentor/trainer role is an asset.

 

What you can expect

• Travels to other Canadian Blood Services Sites to conduct maintenance and provide support. For example, Halifax, NB, and PEI.
• Monday to Friday, 0800 - 1600, some flexibility upon request.
• This position can require periods of sitting, standing and walking. As well we occasionally lifting, pushing and/pulling up to 50 Lbs.
