Job Summary:

We are currently hiring a Radio Frequency (RF) / Electrical (EE)-focused Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) supporting RF systems to join the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization located in Tucson, AZ.

This RSE role is a technical role contributing closely to the successful design, build, integration, and production of advanced Effectors systems. Systems Engineers conversant in RF, EE, and Signal Processing architectures, requirements, and interfaces are critical to the results of our programs. Our RSEs work both in the office and spend hands-on time with the hardware during design, integration and design verification testing at multiple levels from subsystem design to system level flight testing.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Update and maintain RF and EE-related system and subsystem level requirements specifications

  • SE technical expert for RF and EE-related verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are being assessed during Design Verification Testing, Format Qualification Testing, and Hardware Qualification

  • Provide SE technical expertise in RF / EE integration, troubleshooting and failure investigations

  • Lead technical discussions, and formulate plans of action by leveraging company Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across multiple engineering disciplines

  • Lead technical conversations with the customer and suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)

  • Eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following technical domains:

    •   Systems engineering, architecture, and/or design

    •   System performance and analysis

    •   Algorithms and signal processing

    •   Electronics (circuit card assemblies, subassemblies, complete systems) requirements, integration, and verification

    •   RF Sensor sub-systems requirements, integration, and verification

    •   Configurable Logic / Firmware / VHDL architecture, design, development, integration, and verification 

  • Or an Advanced STEM degree and minimum 5 years of professional experience

  • Active Secret security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cost Account Management or Earned Value Management

  • MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics

  • Experience using Agile framework development methods/processes

  • Experience using Azure DevOps methods/tools

  • Experience with Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python

  • Past work experience in a challenging fast paced environment

  • Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance

  • Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures

  • Familiarity with DoD customer infrastructure

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle

  • Familiarity with system safety, reliability, or mission planning

  • Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks

  • Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations

  • Strong communication skills
