About the role

Introduction to role 

 

You will be responsible for managing a large, complex regional Distribution Hub in Budapest, Hungary, and other local distribution operations in various CEE countries. Your mission is to ensure the delivery of customer service, quality, and cost targets, all in compliance with GDP standards. 

 

Accountabilities 

 

• In this role, you will partner with various global functions such as Quality, Commercial, and Supply Chain organizations within AstraZeneca to build and maintain high-level supply chain performance. 

• Ensure Supplier (Logistic Service Provider) day-to-day operational service delivery, ensuring orders are delivered on time and stock outs are avoided. 

• Provide tactical and operational leadership to Logistics Service Providers, engaging them in creating a sustainable Lean culture of continuous improvement. 

Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements for distribution with the Commercial organization. 

• Ensure required service standards by holding Logistics Service Providers accountable and remediating any service issues impacting performance, collaborating with the Logistic Service Provider to drive value. 

Identify and deliver operational improvements to increase the efficiency of the Distribution function across the area. 

• Own the budget of the cost of service through financial planning, cost monitoring, and cost-saving initiatives. 

• Lead changes in your business area through a change control process. 

• Support global and regional supply chain project delivery. 

• Ensure that your area of responsibility is aligned with all local legal requirements and AstraZeneca compliance requirements. 

 

Essential Skills/Experience 

 

• Graduate degree, preferably in Engineering/sciences or equivalent experience 

• Experienced Lean Practitioner with developed Lean Leadership capability 

• Experience in logistics, preferably in pharmaceutical or related regulated industry 

• Good understanding of GDP requirements and regulatory bodies' interpretation of these requirements 

• Analytical capability 

• International cross-functional experience 

• Well-developed leadership capabilities in financial planning and inventory management 

• Collaborative approach, excellent communication skills 

• Ability to collaborate in a matrix global organization 

• Fluent English is essential, Hungarian is desirable
