Facilities Maintenance Technician

BASIC FUNCTION
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum productivity by keeping company equipment in optimum working condition. Responsible for coordinating building services and systems, (such as HVAC) for the smooth operation of buildings. The Facility Maintenane Technician is also responsible for coordinating all buildings, grounds, shop and breakroom supplies, and equipment maintenance operations for IPG Genesis Systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
-Follows up on urgent calls to insure problem has been handled.
-Gathers information and participates in the evaluation of vendors and awarding of service contracts. Oversees outside vendors who have been awarded service contracts.
-Coordinates inspections to insure compliance with codes and safety regulations.
-Coordinates and schedules small to mid-size projects and renovations.
-Performs key role in the oversight of structural maintenance and building operations.
-Troubleshoot equipment problems in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
-Assists with oversight of preventative maintenance program and recommends new preventative maintenance items.
-Requires occasional travel to different sites as necessary.
-Coordinates security systems and/or safety programs.
-Maintain Vendor required certifications and training as required.
-Obeys company policies and procedures and observes all safety regulations.
-Authority to evaluate safety and functionality/risk/compliance associated with facilities.
-Authority to purchase on behalf of the company according to spend policy.
-Authority to work out of sequence.
-Authority to inspect for fitness of use.
-Authority to complete assigned repair/installation work onsite.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Two-year degree or equivalent and at least three years of facilities experience required. Familiarity with building trades, construction methods and materials, HVAC systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, repairs, and maintenance required. Detail oriented skills required for inspection and reporting. Ability to work independently and without immediate supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
