A Day in the Life

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with the Diabetes business. Medtronic announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and to reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic. The Diabetes division, now known as MiniMed, completed its IPO in March 2026. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investment to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care. While you will start your employment with Medtronic, upon completion of required local legal and employment processes, we expect your employment to transfer to MiniMed, subject to business needs and any applicable information and consultation requirements in your jurisdiction.

The Diabetes Operating Unit partners with healthcare professionals and institutions to improve outcomes for people living with diabetes through advanced insulin delivery and diabetes management solutions. This role supports the promotion, adoption, and ongoing utilization of the Diabetes portfolio across assigned customer accounts and healthcare facilities, while working closely with cross-functional commercial and clinical support teams to deliver a high-quality customer experience.

This position is based in Thiruvananthapuram, India and follows a Remote work style. Travel of approximately 30% is required to support customer engagement, account management, training activities, and regional business objectives.
The Territory Manager is responsible for driving adoption and utilization of the Diabetes portfolio within an assigned territory. The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, executing territory growth strategies, providing product support, and achieving sales objectives through effective account management and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Drive sales performance across the assigned territory to achieve or exceed revenue and market share objectives.

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, hospital stakeholders, and key decision-makers within assigned accounts.

  • Educate customers on the clinical and operational benefits of Diabetes products and solutions.

  • Provide product, procedural, and technical support during customer interactions and clinical activities as required.

  • Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with regional and operating unit objectives.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand product adoption and customer reach.

  • Support tender preparation, pricing submissions, and required commercial documentation within established timelines.

  • Maintain accurate account records, sales forecasts, and customer activity updates using approved business systems.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 4+ years experience OR Associate’s Degree AND 2+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Demonstrated experience achieving sales targets and managing customer accounts within an assigned territory.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of medical device or pharmaceutical sales experience within the diabetes therapy area.

  • Experience supporting public hospitals, healthcare institutions, or government healthcare accounts.

  • Knowledge of insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, or diabetes management solutions.

  • Experience participating in tender processes and commercial documentation activities.

  • Ability to analyze territory performance data and translate insights into business growth plans.
