About the role
- The Carrier Management Senior Specialist is responsible for managing a portfolio of transportation carriers to meet UniUni’s service, cost, and compliance objectives. This role ensures high performance from vendors through structured reviews, data-driven management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll do
1. Carrier Performance & Operations Management
- Manage a carrier portfolio to achieve SLA, on-time delivery (OTD), and cost performance targets.
- Maintain full visibility into carrier performance and close service failures through timely corrective actions.
- Ensure contract adherence, regulatory compliance, and enforcement of service standards.
2. Vendor Relationship & Review Mechanisms
- Conduct regular business reviews with carriers to evaluate KPI results, identify performance gaps, and drive corrective action plans.
- Influence carriers through structured communication, data insights, and clear performance expectations.
3. Carrier Onboarding & Standardization
- Document, standardize, and maintain carrier onboarding requirements and qualification criteria.
- Ensure all carriers meet internal and external compliance standards before activation.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with linehaul, warehouse, finance, and other operational teams to align capacity planning and performance goals.
- Promote transparency and partnership culture across internal stakeholders and carrier partners.
5. Data Analysis & Cost Control
- Evaluate lane performance, carrier productivity, and cost models to support operational decision-making.
- Utilize TMS and Excel-based analytics to identify optimization opportunities and support negotiations.
6. Leadership & Project Management
- Set clear expectations with carriers and enforce accountability for service delivery.
- Lead carrier improvement programs, quarterly business reviews, and vendor standardization initiatives.
- Drive development of performance scorecards, escalation frameworks, and process documentation.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in carrier management, vendor control, or transportation operations.
- Proven experience in carrier onboarding, cost negotiations, and SLA enforcement.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of carrier compliance, rate logic, lane performance, and carrier scorecards.
- Proficiency in TMS, Excel (analytics & reporting), negotiation, and vendor communication.
- Strong ability to understand capacity planning, cost models, and productivity metrics.
