Your Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, IA, you will...
- Support the OFP quality organization within the baling division.
- Use data to investigate, contain, troubleshoot, and resolve quality issues through root cause identification.
- Work with a cross functional team to design inherent quality validation into processes and execute continuous improvement to safety, quality, and delivery.
- Lead quality planning and execution discussions including PFMEA, Control Plan, Dimensional Analysis, Product & Process First Pass Yield, and Hold Ship.
- Execute engineering workflow activities to support design and process changes.

What Skills You Need
- Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, and GD&T
- Good written/verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salary and production personnel in a team environment
- Knowledge of MS Power BI or similar for data analytics
- Basic root cause analysis skills
What Makes You Stand Out
- Work experience involving hands on use of quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, DPAR, PPAP, DMAIC, Six Sigma, and 8D problem solving.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques like pareto charts, histograms, pie/bar charts, or Minitab.
- Experience in welding, assembly, or process control.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or five years equivalent work experience
