Job Description
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Tech Center, BLDG 7000 3 times a week, at minimum.
This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
We are seeking to hire an Assistant Manager – GM Energy Go-To-Market (Fleet, Commercial & Utilities) who will support go-to-market launch & performance of GM Charging and GM Energy Hardware and Services in the fleet and commercial space. This role will work cross-functionally & cross-border, supporting the launch and ongoing management of GM Charging products & GM Energy Home Management Systems & Software. Geographic scope is the US & Canada, with potential expansion to other global markets. This role will produce results that don’t need explaining by implementing go-to-market strategies that drive charging hardware and service sales in a customer focused manner while growing the GM Energy Brand.
This position reports to the Manager – GM Energy Go-To-Market.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and go-to-market plan for GM Charging and GM Energy Products for a fleet & commercial audience.
- Develop and create merchandising & product marketing plans in close collaboration with the GM Energy Marketing team and agency partners.
- Integrate products & messaging in GM Energy Sales Channels as well as across GM.
- Design communications considerate of all sales channels and consumer touchpoints: GM/Brands, Dealers, E-Commerce, Direct/EV Live, Partner sales channels.
- Work closely with the Strategic Partnerships including GM Financial on financing and extended warranty options for Retail consumers.
- Work with Digital Operations, DBT & DRP teams as well as GM Energy E-commerce sales channel and Sales Operations team to integrate charging products and fleet offering in eCommerce platforms.
- Collaborate with the fleet, commercial and utilities Sales Channels, including Dealers, E-Commerce, EV Live and Direct Sales Channel teams to ensure products are properly represented and promoted.
- Develop & maintain competitive comparisons & intelligence.
- Lead pricing and sales incentive initiatives on GM Energy portfolio, in collaboration with GM Energy Finance.
- Collaborate with GM Energy Marketing & Operations teams to develop marketing, training & promotional assets to enable sales performance and strong product knowledge.
- Develop and present GM internal leadership updates on program performance and sales & CX objective tracking.
- Develop resources to enhance Field, Dealer, e-commerce, fleet, commercial and utilities sales channel understanding of GM Charging and GM Energy products and services and the planning / requirements / recommendations for vehicle charging, V2G & V2X capabilities.
- Work cross-company and cross-agency to develop engaging content.
- Oversee GM Charging and GM Energy product communications for the fleet and commercial space as well as for utilities.
Additional Job Description
Required Skills / Experience / Education
- 4+ Years of sales and/or marketing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
- Experience within automotive marketing with particular emphasis on digital.
- Highly driven marketing professional who excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record partnering with GM Dealers to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Proven track record supporting complex projects (planning, business case development).
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships across an organization.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is preferred.
- Experience establishing sales performance standards and KPIs.
- Expert-level knowledge of EVs, EV Charging Networks, Home EV Charging products and Installation services.
- A prolific communicator with highly proficient presentation skills and strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong intellectual horsepower and proven ability to take complex technical product offerings and simply them for consumers and sales teams is required.
- Strong computer software and analytics skills, especially Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to take complex amounts of data and develop key insights and actions.
