This is a temporary position from 08/18/2026 to 11/24/2026
6.5 hours/day, 210 days/year
Salary Range 11 $23.65 to $32.40/hour

JOB TITLE: Educational Assistant - High School - Textbook
Job Summary: The job of "Educational Assistant - High School - Textbook" is done to insure the smooth and efficient operation of the Library/Media Center and to help provide students and staff members with the best library/media services available. Responsibilities will vary, depending on student and staff needs
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist students and staff with resources for research (both computerized and print)
- Maintain and be knowledgeable of Media Center equipment (computers, copy machine, printers, scanners)
- Working knowledge of current software/computer programs used the Media Center
- Assist staff in scheduling classes and help locate resources for use
- Assist students with classroom assignments
- Help organize and implement annual Media Center Freshman orientation
- Annually inventory library materials and complete end-of-year final inventory reports
- Maintain equipment maintenance
- Organize student aides and helpers
- Monitor students and take disciplinary action when needed
- Supervise circulation desk
- Train and supervise student aides and parent volunteers
- Maintain automated circulation system
- Shelve and file materials
- Repair library materials
- Maintain Media Center utilization statistics
- Process materials for use in the Library/Audio Visual center
- Assist with Library supply orders and inventory
- Maintain overdue records and prepare fine/overdue notices
- Process and distribute required patron and item reports
- Maintain bulletin boards, display cases and book displays, assist with library promotions
- Assists with the transportation needs of students, including walking them to and from the bus, supervision of tudents on the way to and from the bus, supervision of loading and unloading of busses, arranging for the transportation needs of students
- Prompt and regular attendance
Essential Job Requirement � Qualifications:
- Experience Required: Prior job related experience, paid or volunteer, with school-age children.
- Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities Required: Skill to perform basic clerical functions, basic arithmetic calculations, operate standard office equipment, use English in verbal and written form, use correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. Knowledge of principles of child development, instructional processes. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, maintain confidentiality of student records, meet schedules and deadlines, read/interpret/apply rules, regulations, policies, rapidly learn methods and materials used in a variety of instructional situations.
