Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student - Information Security for John Deere Financial located in Ames, IA, you will...
- Be a technical member of a software team and contribute to feature delivery
- Design, build, test, deploy, and operate security software solutions
- Write clean and well-tested code
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to improve security of software
This position is not available to students on immigration visas
What Skills You Need
- Available to work 14-20 hours/week during the academic year
- Available to work 35-40 hours/week during the summer semester
- Takes initiative and is a self-starter who can complete assignments remotely.
- Experience in at least one programming language
- Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited university
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a Technology related discipline; others may apply
- Graduation date of May 2026 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with Python, Java/JavaScript, SQL, Terraform and Groovy
- Experience interacting with APIs
- Experience with Git/Github
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of security concepts: vulnerabilities, ethical hacking, secure design
- Strong communication and analytical skills
