Principal Associate, Project Manager - Design Business Operations

As the Experience Design Project Manager for Events and Community, this associate will manage hybrid, virtual and in-person events and routines for our 600+ associate team. Key initiatives would include our XD Associate Engagement activities (All Hands, Weekly Design Craft, Community of Practice Events, Firesides).

This associate will also support associate onboarding and other culture routines, as well as special-projects for the overall XD Chief of Staff organization.

 

As a Project Manager you will:

• Work on small to medium-scale department projects that have a direct impact on the company

• Drive cross-functional projects or phases of larger projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed

• Manage multiple moving pieces in real-time to ensure successful execution of events and programs

• Work with partners to assist in project planning and design. 

• Manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery.

• Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation

• Facilitate regular meetings with the project team. Document progress and report to stakeholders on project status.

• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

• Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

• Identify ways to improve and streamline business process

• Collaborate with our Corporate Communications partners on executing comms around our events and program strategy

The person will:

• Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work

• Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

• Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands

• Display strong consulting and collaboration skills

 

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in project management

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $118,700 - $135,400 for Principal Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
