The College of Education (COE) is home to 3 academic departments, 16 academic degree programs, 14 research and outreach units, the HEDCO Institute, and the HEDCO Clinic. All academic departments house both graduate and undergraduate programs addressing the full range of issues present in educational and social systems. Our tenure and career non-tenure track faculty in each department are devoted to inspiring and mentoring the approximately 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students in the COE who will be the next generation of educational and social science leaders. The CPHS Department is committed to advancing research and scholarship to improve prevention and intervention practices for children, youth, adults, families, and communities. We are dedicated to training socially aware and culturally responsive clinicians, researchers, and interventionists who engage across ecological levels, utilize evidence-based practices, and, in partnership with their communities, work to reduce inequities and enhance relationships, health, and well-being.

The Couples and Family Therapy program, COAMFTE accredited since 2003, includes graduates representing 47 U.S. states and 31 countries. The program’s mission is to provide an inclusive and equity-centered learning environment that produces ethical, skilled, research-informed and culturally competent couples and family therapists. Program faculty promote a strengths-based, systemic orientation and cohesive learning environment. Coursework occurs concurrently with direct clinical work, commencing with the observation of advanced students at the Center for Healthy Relationships, located within the University of Oregon’s on-site interdisciplinary HEDCO Clinic, which comprises seven affiliated centers. The program is 90 credits and 7-terms leading to a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy.

Position Summary

The Couples and Family Therapy program in the College of Education is seeking to hire a career faculty member in the Teaching Professor category to support our COAMFTE-approved master’s program. This position will be located at the University of Oregon Eugene campus. Primary responsibilities will include teaching/supervision, academic advising and support to graduate students, and service to the department, college, university, and/or profession. Additional opportunities may be available for academic leadership, practicum/internship coordination, and program improvement activities. This position includes contributing to the equity and inclusion goals of the program and college and incorporating inclusive practices into their work.
