We are looking to hire top talent to join our dynamic team! ND Paper offers full benefits and a competitive compensation. We are currently seeking an experienced Boiler and Turbine Production Supervisor.

The Boiler and Turbine Production Supervisor will work under the direction of the Pulp, Power, and Materials General Superintendent This is a full-time salaried position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
    • Own and execute the Clean Production improvement plan.
    • Work with the training coordinator to develop educational materials that increase operator knowledge.
    • Audit 360 process in your area.
    • Participate in area, mill, and enterprise initiatives for improving our safety performance.
  • Work with maintenance to execute repair plan for the equipment in your area.
  • Supervise hourly personnel in boilers, turbines, biomass, and coal.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly rounds in your area to set new standards for precision operations.
  • Understanding of Environmental Compliance Requirements and ensure that Production demands never supersede environmental expectations. (Air, Water, & Waste)
  • Develop a list of process KPI’s and hold the team accountable for achieving results consistent with best in class.
  • Support the Training & Development of personnel.
  • Continuously look for ways to optimize the process to improve reliability, efficiency & costs
  • Maintain strong communication systems within the Business Unit and through the mill.
  • Supervise all production and quality activities for the line when on call for the weekend.
  • Maintain harmonious relations with employees by administering contract provisions and company policies.
  • Possess ambulatory capabilities to move freely about the mill, ascend and descend ladders, and tolerate temperature extremes.
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
  • Weekend and holiday coverage rotation for Pulp & Power business unit.
  • Work beyond normal work schedule as necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.

      Required Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or minimum of 5 years of boiler and turbine area experience and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
      • Working knowledge of power boilers, steam turbines, and steam distribution systems
      • Decision making capabilities commensurate with the operation of large industrial boilers and related equipment.
      • Strong oral, written, listening, and communications skills, as well as initiative and the ability to delegate decision making and other responsibilities.  The ability to efficiently focus attention on the details of process operations is necessary.
      • Candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.

      • Efficient within SAP, ParcView, and Distributed Control Systems
