Business Program Leader (Hybrid - Columbia, SC)

The Business Program Leader serves as a subject matter expert on AgFirst projects that impact applications supported by the Association Loan Operations team. This includes supporting project development teams to enhance existing applications and develop new applications. The Leader also supports the overall production responsibilities of Association Loan Operations.  This role is directly involved in ensuring the business needs, regulatory requirements, and policy changes are met while supporting production operations and making enhancements to applications supported by the team.  As a subject matter expert, the Leader will also assist end users to resolve any inquiries related to these supported applications.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for leading business project support for applications supported by Association Loan Operations.  
  • Responsibilities include gathering and developing business requirements, functional specifications, use cases, business rules, process flows, and test plans to ensure that routine maintenance and fixes, as well as enhancements generated by business requirements, are accomplished efficiently and effectively. 
  • Supports product owners of applications supported by Association Loan Operations to organize and prioritize the backlog. 
  • Provides operational and technical system support, expertise, and resolution for problems and exception inquiries regarding owned systems, applications, and processes.  
  • Mentors and assists production staff in their understanding and support of Association Loan Operations systems, applications, and processes.
  • Responsible for regulatory reporting, and supports annual production events such as DNA Upgrade, IRS Reporting, Patronage, and the fiscal year-end close. 
  • Assists in providing training and Standard Operating Procedures to the Customer Support Center and Associations when modified or new Association Loan Operations applications go into production.

 What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, or a related field.  
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in areas of business analysis and loan accounting.
  • Advanced functional and operational knowledge of loan accounting systems.
  • Desire to embrace technology as a means of improving processes.  
  • Strong technical skills with software such as Excel and SQL. 
  • Ability to estimate tasks, establish priorities, organize assignments, and properly allocate resources to complete the assignments and responsibilities within the established timeframes.  
  • Must be able to manage competing demands.
  • Creates and contributes to building a positive team environment with the Association Loan Operations group.  
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and experience leading project teams in an Agile environment.
