Assistant Shift Manager Table Games - Silver Legacy (Reno, NV)

JOB SUMMARY

Provide support to the shift manager as well as to organize and manage the entire Games Department shift functions in order to create a smooth running operation, thereby offering a more enjoyable place to work or visit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include, but is not limited to the following) 

• Assist shift managers with administrative and operational tasks
• Provide shift coverage and oversee operations in the absence of the manager

• Building and keeping games full by player and dealer development

• Chip inventory while games are in action

• Tracking player’s win or loss during course of action

• Adherence to House and Gaming rules and regulations

• May assist with coaching and developing dealers

• Scheduling dealers to ensure player satisfaction

• Enforce rules and regulations of the casino
• Issue playing cards and dice, and review them for irregularities

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information 
• Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures
• Must have all the skills of a dealer and an understanding of all Table Games
• Knowledge of Casino games, operations and gaming regulations
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state gaming license
• 3 years of Casino Gaming supervisory experience 
• High School diploma or equivalent  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (May be required in order to perform the essential functions of the position)

• Frequent standing/walking/sitting for extended periods 
• Work area is indoors and subject to variable temperatures
• May be subject to smoking environment, moderate noise and bright lights
• Constant contact with staff and customers
• Normal vision range required
• Ability to use the telephone and calculator
• Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity
• Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
• Requires normal correctable vision.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have the ability to provide internal/ external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech – both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
