Job Description

As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Vialto professional skills and responsibilities for this include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting virtual US tax initiation meetings with taxpayers prior to going on a new international assignment, as well as upon repatriation
  • Conducting virtual data gather interviews with the taxpayers to assist with the gathering of their tax information
  • Performing the initial intake review of taxpayer information provided to validate completeness and provide instruction to the preparers for the completion of the tax returns
  • Understanding the concept of tax equalization and able to explain the calculation to the taxpayer
  • Communicating with the taxpayers to answer questions, go over their tax documents, and represent Vialto Partners as a capable, knowledgeable tax professional to whom they can trust their tax questions
  • Using feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas
  • Delegating to others to provide stretch opportunities, coaching them to deliver results
  • Demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems
  • Using a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends
  • Reviewing your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance
  • Ability be agile when faced with uncertainty or changes; able to adjust priorities.
  • Pursue opportunities to develop existing and new skills to provide value to our clients.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills

  • Demonstrates knowledge and/or a proven record of success in understanding individual tax for employee cross-border movement including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process; and managing international assignee populations of multinational clients.
  • Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in utilizing technical skills in individual tax compliance;
  • Creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members
  • Ability to adhere to tight turnaround commitments and balancing conflicting priorities.
  • Provide candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manager; as well as keeping leadership timely informed of progress and potential issues.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of automation & digitization in a professional services environment including but not limited to:
    • innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions;
    • working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients;
    • utilizing digitization tools to reduce hours and optimize engagement
