Senior Accountant (Remote - United States)

Summary of the role:

This critical role will act as the primary local accounting contact for other functions and business entities in M-Files' North American subsidiaries. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with the HQ/Group accounting team in Finland to ensure that key processes and accounting practices are aligned and streamlined with those of the group.

This role will perform recurring monthly & quarterly closing activities in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring appropriate financial controls and compliance with local GAAP and IFRS. You will also supervise the work of our current US accounting service provider and participate in external audits and ad hoc analysis as needed.

What you will be doing/Responsibilities and Duties:

• Managing US entity's monthly accounting close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Supervising the accounting work of our current US local service provider.
• Ensuring that processes and accounting practices are aligned with those of the group.
• Participating as the US SME in process development projects.
• Handling all day-to-day accounting activities in the US like approving invoices, T&E expenses.
• Supporting in external audits (the US subsidiary is in scope as part of our group audit).
• Serving as the local contact in ensuring statutory compliance (insurance, taxes)
• Ensuring a smooth co-operation with the HQ/Group accounting team in Finland, you will be expected to travel 1-3 times a year to Finland. Due to time zone difference between Finland and the US, you will be expected to normally start your workdays relatively early in the morning (around 7 AM Central).

Requirements

Who you are/Qualifications and Skills:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience as an accountant of 100+ employee company, preferably in software or SaaS industry
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP required (IFRS knowledge helpful)
• Excellent organizational, written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and growth mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• CPA is highly desired
• Prior experience with NetSuite (our groupwide ERP) and Coupa (our groupwide procurement system) are strongly preferred
