Job Description/Responsibilities

Are you a high-energy student eager to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge technology? KLA is seeking motivated interns to contribute to exciting projects at our Ann Arbor, Michigan location this summer.

You’ll dive into the world of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, working directly on the development of sub-assemblies for KLA’s industry-leading inspection and metrology tools. You’ll collaborate with fellow interns and experienced engineers on a focused aspect of a larger initiative, gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to meaningful, impactful work, learn from experts in the field, and be part of a fast-paced, innovative culture.

As an intern, you will:

  • Design 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation

  • Perform basic analytical modeling to support design decisions

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including electrical, optical, systems, and software engineers

  • Procure components and materials for prototyping

  • Assemble and test your designs in a laboratory setting

Qualifications/Education Desired

The ideal candidate will have completed fundamental coursework in mechanical design and manufacturing and possess basic skills in CAD software. Familiarity with PTC Creo and Ansys is a strong plus.

Minimum Qualifications

Some College or work experience of 0 years

Base Pay Range: $26.00 - $38.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.
